TV Primetime Princess
YES Magazine, April 2001
As the Mara everyone sympathized with in “Mara Clara,’ she had millions of televiewers following the long-running drama five nights a week. When that ended, she kept them glued for two-and-a half years in another soap,
“Esperanza,” which maintained 50+ percent of the ratings and more than 70 percent of the audience share. Then
came the successful weekly drama anthology, “Judy Ann Drama Special.” Showcasing Judy Ann’s many moods and faces, it proved that the star’s drawing power was not limited to tear-jerkers. It ends this month but gives way to another Judy Ann drama show. This one stars her with Piolo Pascual, the actor her fans clearly favor as the other half of her love-team on screen.
